India and Qatar are taking significant steps to enhance bilateral media cooperation after Indian Ambassador H.E. Vipul met Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), in Doha on Monday.
The discussion focused on expanding partnerships between Indian and Qatari media organisations. Key areas included content exchange, joint training initiatives, capacity-building programs, and strategies to ensure accurate and transparent information flow between the two countries.
Ambassador Vipul emphasized India’s dedication to strengthening its long-standing relationship with Qatar, highlighting the pivotal role of media in promoting people-to-people connections and cultural understanding.
Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani expressed QMC’s interest in fostering professional collaboration with Indian media entities, underlining the value of sharing expertise and exploring modern communication strategies to adapt to the evolving media landscape.
This meeting is seen as a step forward in India–Qatar relations, complementing cooperation across energy, trade, labour, culture, and tourism, now extended to the media sector.
